Showreel from last semester - I’ll upload some of my assignments, from this year of doing 3D, very soon.
Promised myself that I would have SOMETHING to show for doing nothing during my holiday… this is SOMETHING, and it’s MOVING.
Sort of. Back to procrastinating.
Interaction - Sultan and Hogarth having a cuddlefest.
Final 2D assignment before exams. Makes me sad, I finally started to feel like I can get into it properly and all we’ll be doing next year is 3d. I remain open to it, though, but I’ll miss being taught 2D. OH WELL, guess I’ll have to do my own little projects in my sparetime.
And yes, the tear is super overkill on the feels. AND THAT’S HOW I LIKE IT.
Third attempt for a decent result in Flash. I’ll spare the internet of the first two..
We collaborated with three students from La Poudrière, helping them to put together small pieces they can use in a pitch. As one can see, I was granted a young superhero boy running around with a larger than life attitude to him. Flash has grown on me, but it took some time!
Dance Animation
For the first time we got to design our own character, even though I didn’t follow through with much of a design, only had a very vague idea; a girl wearing a tribal mask doing ballet. Good enough for me!
Acting
We had three characters to choose from, I chose Roger from ‘101 Dalmatians’… in case you couldnt tell by the not-so-subtle hint I put in there.
TV-Paint Introduction - Fly and Frog.
Last assignment of our first semester, next up is three weeks of intense relaxation.
I managed to end the semester with a pretty basic understanding of the program we’ll be using for the rest of the year, happy we got a chance to get familiar with it before holidays. My hand, however, is in so much pain, it’s going to be weird having everything digital from now on - it’s definitely quicker, but having slaved through the basics with pen and paper I’ve been provided with an understanding of the craft, and not to mention a dcipline, that would’ve been so easy to skip digitally.
So far a wicked first semester have been had. Happy holidays!
Acting Animatio - Conductor
Five second animation with Danny from ‘Cats don’t dance’. A movie I really, REALLY don’t like, due to the overly sugar-high-esque animation style (and overall movie in general) … but funnily enough it’s the most fun style to animate in, bit of double edged sword I suppose.
Also I will never be able to listen to ‘Carmen’ again.. But I digress, I did have a LOT of fun with this thing, learning how to combine key-to-key with straight-ahead animation, and most of all.
Happy friday, lovely people!
